The Big Give is LIVE and accepting donations towards our Kit collections to expand and develop our collection! These include:
- Pre-K Kits
- Our existing Pre-K kits are very popular, and we plan to use Big Give funds to expand this popular collection! These kits introduce and build on key concepts that include phonics, counting, senses, alphabet, sorting, and more. STEAM-to-Go kits will expand our current collection, helping young children build, solve puzzles, experiment, and learn about our natural world.
- Citizen Science Kits
- These kits hold everything needed to gather data for a specific science project that encourages citizens to take part in local investigations. Each kit includes a printed activity guide, helpful tips, and required tools/materials needed to complete the project. Sample topics include: Identifying and counting local pollinators; gathering light and pollution data; charting data and reporting findings. These are ideal for older children, adults, and entire families who want to engage in scientific investigations in their own community and share data with others who are also engaged in these projects.
- Makerspace To Go Kits
- For those who love our Makerspace and programs but want more time to explore crafting and tech tools on your own… at home? These kits will provide everything needed to develop creative and artistic skills that enable users to complete projects such as crochet and knitting, sewing, needle felting, leatherworking, and more. Additional, tech kit topics will include coding, robotics, and investigations with virtual reality.
- Stay Sharp Kits
- These theme-based activity kits for older adults are designed to stimulate cognitive function and improve memory. They can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing memory loss due to dementia, Alzheimer’s or other memory or cognitive challenges. The kits can be beneficial for anyone wanting to improve their short-term memory. Because the kits are interactive, they can be shared with family, friends, or caregivers who lend support to older adults.
