View The Stars at Night documentary with filmmaker Betty Buckley!

For millennia humanity has gazed up at the stars and wondered about our place in the universe. From the ancient Greek personifying the stars as Gods, to the Aztec predicting what will come as the universe turns like clockwork; we have always been fascinated by the potential of what’s above.

Unfortunately, one third of humanity can no longer see the Milky Way. Light pollution has rendered it unseeable in most of the modern world.

The Stars at Night is the story of a group of artists, astronomers, everyday people, and a crew of young filmmakers as they embark on a journey of discovery to uncover the deep connections between astronomy, mythology, and original storytelling.

We explore opinions offered about the nature of our place among the stars, and questions will be raised regarding the benefits to our psychological well being when we can see the universe as it is. We’ll ask why the stars have the basis for stories throughout history, featuring interviews from experts in light pollution, psychology, astronomy, and mythology.
